In the UK, it is illegal to see or describe any item that is gold, silver, platinum or palladium over specific weights unless it has been hallmarked and verified.

Assay Assured status was made to protect customers from being caught out and buying substandard metals.

All Neena Kay silver jewellery over 7.78 grammes and gold jewellery over 1 grammes is scientifically tested by the Assay Office and hallmarked to comply with the legal requirements for selling precious metals in the UK.
